Brief Introduction

Dr. Sherin S Completed MPhil & PhD from University of Kerala, Karyavattom Campus, Triv andrum. He currently working as Senior Lecturer and Scientist in Central Research Laboratory at PMS College of Dental Science and Research, Trivandrum. He has 13 years of experience in teaching and research. Proven expertise in Biochemistry & Nanotechnology. Approved PhD guide of KUHS. Published five papers in reputed journals with high impact factor delivered 8 invited lectures in various conferences and and guided 30MSc projects. Area of research includes Biochemistry, Nanotechnology, Phytochemistry, Atherosclerosis, Cancer, Diabetes & Microbiology. He is also working as Adjunct Faculty in Biochemistry & Genetics at National Institute of Speech and Hearing, Trivandrum.

  • Best mentorship award for contribution in research 2023, PMS College of Dental Science & Research, India.
  • Developed a nano tool for early detection of atherosclerosis using contrasting efficiency in MRI technique. The study is selected for ICMR SRF.
  • R. Rajagopalan Endowment award for a research publication in a journal of highest impact factor for the year 2017, Society of Biological Chemists (India), Kerala Chapters, Trivandrum, India.

Funded Projects:

  1. Co-Investigator of DST FIST Project (Rs1.04 Crore).
  2. Consultant of project entitled “Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using plant extracts for the management of major insect pests” in collaboration with Kerala Agriculture university, Vellanikkara, Trissur, Kerala, Kerala State Plan Fund (30Lakh).
  3. Guiding BDS student who received KUHS STS Fellowship of Rs 10,000/- for project entitled “Development of chitosan incorporated Titaniumdioxide nanoparticles for cell free DNA Scavenging for the treatment of periodontitis-in vitro approach”.
