Brief Introduction

Dr. Aswathy K. Vijayan completed BDS from The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, MDS from Kerala University of Health Sciences and Ph D from Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. She works as Associate Professor at Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at PMS College of Dental Science and Research, Trivandrum. She has 8 years of teaching experience. She has been a Ph.D. guide under Kerala University of Health Sciences since 2022. She has published 13 articles in Scopus/web of Science indexed journals and received 2 funded projects from ICMR.

Completed Research Projects:

  • Completed research on the topic “Association of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) and its role in p53 Mutation from Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, under the guidance of Dr Arvind Muthukrishnan. (2018-2022).
  • Done thesis on “A diagnostic test evaluation in invitro samples to find out the diagnostic accuracy of Conventional film and Storage phosphor plate with direct measurement by Stereomicroscope as the gold standard in detecting proximal caries. This thesis compares the diagnostic ability of phosphor plate and conventional film in detecting proximal caries with gold standard stereomicroscope. (2013-2016)
  • Guided 1  undergraduate student who received  ICMR STS fellowship 2023 of Rs 50,000
